At a distance from power- Digital Health Record

The Government of Quebec is now committing $450 million to the Digital Health Record, a project meant to modernize access to care, centralize data and simplify coordination between professionals, at the very moment when there is no leader in place to politically assume the consequences.

SAAQclic showed that a billion dollars can be committed, spent, corrected, renegotiated, audited, without any decision-maker losing their house, without any executive losing their company, without any elected official losing their eligibility, without personal responsibility ever being engaged.

The SAAQclic file is still ongoing, so what can we expect from the Digital Health Record, if not that the signal remains the same: another billion can move forward without anyone ever having to personally answer for the consequences.
